Money grubbers! Fraudulent scam site. I joined http://J4Ldating.com a while ago and I had several dates before the second wave of lockdown. I cancelled my Eharmony account as soon as I had my first date through another site ( 4 months ago). But I'm still fighting to get my money back, and I don't think they will ever refund me. They use all kinds of tricky and deceptive rip off schemes, especially automatic renewals at a much increased rate. It's truly shocking and bold scam. Once you have given them your credit card details you are in trouble. So just stay away from these rascals! I hope my review can save someone from this outrageous scam.
EHarmony will take your money but their customer service is non-existent! I have been trying for 2 weeks now to contact them and they simply do not reply to emails. There is no published phone number where you can call them, but even if there was, I highly doubt anyone would ever answer. Forget about cancelling your account... they will just keep on billing you! This is truly alarming. Scam artists!

I made the mistake of signing up for a year based on past experience with eHarmony (years ago). After an hour of looking through their "matches" (online because I could not get into the app), I realized I had just wasted $500. They will not refund. They will not let me out of the agreement. Nobody who believes in their product would have such policies. Take Bumble. It's orders of magnitude better, and you pay by the month. Be warned.
Tip for consumers:
Try out their competitors and avoid these guys completely. There is a lot of garbage out there, but with a minimal amount of work, I found one that was orders of magnitude better. No surprise the one I found charges monthly. They know their product is good enough that they don't have to trap you into a long term plan (6-months is the minimum with eHarmony).
I have had no adequate matches. I am 55, in shape, highly educated, no children or ex's, own my home, financially independent, very nice looking and have answered questions in a fairly detailed manner. As I said above, I live in a large city in between Boston and Hartford.
So NOT HAPPY, especially for the price of admission to this show. Total waste of money and time.
How convenient you add proof of purchase to limit this review. You already have that in your data. But here it is. I'll be looking for my review to be posted.
Tip for consumers:
Be careful, there are other sites which I am getting several hits each day, for far less, and they are more local.
Huge waste of money, my word the things I could have done with the money wasted. One understands why the hapless characters still hoping for dates on this dreadful site have not met a match. Very few people to choose from - NONE in professions I would choose from. I am listed as ‘liberal' - as an example - and I keep getting matches from those who label themselves ‘very conservative' - really? And they have no interest in refunding you money. No fool like an eharmony fool.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t.
Many of the 'matches' are fake. Requesting a refund after 3 days realising this I was ignored and then had the withheld payments sent to a debt collector.
This company is incredibly dodgy and not at all genuine or honourable. Stay away from them and stick to other dating sites that are free and offer better and more genuine profiles.
This company is purely about making money!
Tip for consumers:
Stay away form this site. Use others that are free and not tricking you with hidden profile 'likes' to get you to go premium
When you sign up and pay for a subscription on eharmony they will not stop charging you even if you cancel your subscription. It is terrible that they do this. I found my perfect match and we both wanted to cancel of accounts and subscription. They will cancel our account but will continue to charge both of us. I had a 6 month subscription and don't need it anymore. They are going to keep changing me for 4 more months even with my profile deleted. So be very careful about using eharmony.
Tip for consumers:
They are not clear on the refund process. If you purchase a 6th month membership and cancel after a Month. You can delete your account but eharmony will continue to charge you for the rest of the 6 months.
This is the worst online dating site. Not only are 80 recent of my matches without photos and 99 percent with completely opposing political views, today I got a match with a porno profile photo! Two hour after reporting it, it is still there. Several of my matches have been blocked for being fake profiles. I could tell immediately. None of my matches have been slightly suitable. Customer service is non-existent, and the tech is difficult to navigate. Don't subscribe! They take a lot of your money for absolutely nothing, except frustration and disappointment!
This company prey on lonely people and the small print which you feel you'd be safe agreeing to, is a big scam. If you cancel even after a few minutes they charge you extra straight from your bank account. No time passes it's gone. Absolutely disgusting and they throw small print at you to get out of any refund. Don't touch with a barge pole! If I could put zero or a negative as a review I would
Tip for consumers:
Utter scam as A refund is advised if you cancel during 14 day cooling off period. But this does not happen as they point out small print which I found contradicts the refund policy. Utter scam!
This service may only work if you live in a large city or densely populated area. For us that live outside the city, it is worthless and ridiculously expensive. I had only 2 matches relatively close to me, the rest were anywhere from 3 to 5 hours away. Just imagine, driving 10 hours to date someone. That's not dating, that's a vacation!
Further, no reasoning is accepted by this company, once you sign, you pay, no matter what. Forget cancellations, it doesn't matter if the product does not fit you or does not apply to your lifestyle.
Don't waste your money, find other alternatives or a more consumer-friendly service.
I have tried cancelling 2 times with E-harmony.ca. They refuse to give me a full refund. They responded the first time with ridiculous consumer suggestions like transferring my membership to a FAMILY MEMBER!. I want a refund... The telephone number is constantly busy and hangs up. I WANT a full refund... Why on earth am I getting US American profiles with the border closed with Canada? What does your stupid company not understand.?
Tip for consumers:
STAY AWAY FROM EHARMONY with non existance customer service and questionable business practices...I do not recommend this service to Canadian Consumers.
Eharmony first off charges ridiculous high rates and when I signed up- it was a 4 month agreement but then I realized I was being scammed so I went to cancel my subscription and they had me apparently signed up for a year! On top of that, you can't get in touch with any service rep- all their phone numbers are disconnected! Not even emails! It's a hoax. There maybe 1 or 2 real people but a majority is outside search criteria which is not what I paid for. They don't filter members well.
Tip for consumers:
Not even worth all that time and energy- you can never even get in touch with a rep because all their lines are not working! Not even an email! Very very sad!
Don't even bother signing up on this site. They don't have enough candidates for you to choose from as they've pre selected them based on the answers that you've provided when you signed up. The men on my queue were the type of men that I've swiped left on Tinder and Bumble. Those two sites are better and free. Between E. Harmony and Match.com I'd go with the later. This is an expensive site and not even worth my money. I want my money back!
Tip for consumers:
Do not even sign up
I tried the service for a few days and didn't like it however was refused a refund and am now stuck with a one year membership. It's absolutely extraordinary that a company refuses to cancel the subscription when it doesn't cost them anything. The customer service promising commitments are not only misleading but they are false. Stay away from this site

I don't usually write bad reviews but I would not recommend this dating site! It really deserves NO STARS! There are few viable matches! Matches deleted often, leaving fewer choices. Few valid participants! Does not live up to its boasts! No refunds... period! STAY AWAY!
Tip for consumers:
Go somewhere else!
Please don't fall for their marketing scam. If you get on there you are hooked in for at least six months. What a waste of money. The only person who liked me was a 74 year old invalid and I am an attractive fit 68 year old woman who recently lost her husband. If they were legitimate they would refund your money, but they aren't!
Tip for consumers:
That you do not get a refund or more importantly can’t get out of a contract that you aren’t even aware you have signed up for! Deceptive isn’t a strong enough word.
Its expensive and something is wrong with the site. I thought it was me at first but I read a review and the same thing was happening to that person. No one even looks at my profile. And anybody who did try contact me was blocked saying they were reported for to eharmony for violating their rules. You cannot get a refund unless you die or are disabled. It is a total RIP off and there is no way to contact them.
Purchased the premium, see what it was like. Felt exactly like Tinder. I wanted to cancel within the three day grace period. Come to find out it's only applicable in about 4 states to receive a refund. $171 well wasted. With no help from the team you could easily feel that it's a MONEY SCAM. Just collecting every cent they can. Will never go back and will always recommend for people to stay clear of this terrible company.
E Harmony has the worst sign-up and cancellation policy they automatically renew your subscription and never send a reminder. When you sign up there is no option for a fixed term! I forgot to cancel less than a week and noticed on my visa, they will not refund my money and it was 578.34 for a year, a total rip-off. Outdated site, much better sites to try Bumble or Hinge or even Match. No one uses this site please don't use it.
Tip for consumers:
Horrible sign-up policy, automatic review with no option to do a specific contract. Disgusting company.
Please stay away! So expensive, other dating sites so much more reasonable and way more potential matches.
This company has no morals and even if you cancel your account you will continue to get charged. I've made repeated requested to have my profile deleted and removed from the site, and they repeatedly ignore those requests and keep telling me to reply to the email if I would like to proceed with profile deletion. Every time I have made it clear, in no uncertain terms, I want my profile deleted, but they either won't or can't delete it. I don't know what to do!
I can't recommend that anyone sign up for this site. They have no ethics or morals, and just want your money.
Tip for consumers:
More interested in money than creating matches
I didn't care for eHarmony at all. The matches were extremely limited in my area. After a year of not using the service, my bank account news automatically charged with no reminder of the subscription renewal. EHarmony refused to reimburse me after several attempts since I don't use the app. They have no customer care number and you can only contact them via email or chat. I highly recommend to avoid eHarmony and simply use a free dating app. I've had much better luck.
Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time
It's a crack head business, absolute scam and rip off! They have taken to misleading their customers, using fake photos, bots, encouraging all kinds of scammers. There is no background check. Scammers are never banned. They have made several attempts to put unauthorized charges on my bank account. Cancelling your membership is a real challenge. So just avoid this site, it's not worth a minute of your time!
I cancelled my auto renewal shortly after I paid for this site, but it wasn't recognized nor did I get a confirmation letter of cancellation. They charged me two years in a row, which nothing was ever refunded. Do not pay for this site, it's UN-exciting anyway. Too much work put in and nothing gained. POF is a gold mine, comparing to eharmony!
Tip for consumers:
Get in writing that you cancelled, don’t use a credit card!
I included part of my Eharmony receipt. I decided to sign up for this site instead of Elite Single because of their Religion Denomination functionality. It turned out, the website contains misleading information. The actual product doesn't have the functionality. They said it is no longer available. My advice, please contact their customer care for any product functionalities they have promised. The credit card company took a side with them so yes, don't think you can dispute your money. They are not accountable to deliver what their website promise about the product.
Just an awful app. There is so few matches in your area to start. The app itself is useless and put off date. It buffers and doesn't load. Then when you contact their customer service team they keep telling you to uninstall and reinstall the app. When you decide (very quickly) this isn't worth the ridiculous amount of money being charged and try to cancel, you will be informed that it isn't possible as per their terms and conditions.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use it - run far far away. Use ANY other site before signing up here
EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.

I got zero dates in the year I subscribed. Lots of men looked at me, but generally speaking, they just didn't respond.
Use a pre paid credit card and only load the amount of the subscription you want onto the card, works every time and they NEVER get your real bank info
Rather than asking the company to cancel subscription remove there source of payment. If payment by credit card: Tell credit card company your card is lost and ask for new one. The new account number should stop renewal. Using a checking account: Ask bank for assistance. Good Luck!
